Richard Lim

Mr. Lim is the Managing Director of The Relational. Fluent in English and Chinese, he has been a Consultant Psychotherapist in private practice for more than 16 years specializing in couple therapy and psychodynamic individual psychotherapy. He is also a certified Clinical Supervisor (APA) who provides psychodynamic supervision for counsellors and psychologists in Singapore and the region. He contributes actively in community wellness programmes and conducts regular training for the public and private sector in applying psychology at the workplace for better performance and work life harmony. He trains and lectures in graduate level programmes and courses for various universities including the NUS and NTU.

Andrea has 32 years of multi-cultural counseling experience, providing bilingual services in English and German. She specializes in trauma work, crisis intervention, sex addiction, domestic violence, marital concerns and gender change issues. Andrea offers therapy to individuals, couples and families, working with a broad age range from teenagers to adults. Her approach is eclectic, e.g. Solution-Focused with elements from Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural interventions, based on clients’ needs.

Having completed her Masters in Psychology, Ms. Chidambaram began her career in corporate HR, where focus was on employee training and team building involving psychometric testing. Given her interest in child psychology, young adults, and families with unique needs, she underwent further training in counselling and is currently working with children and families requiring behavioural and developmental interventions. For over 16 years, Ms. Chidambaram has worked in numerous situations enriching her capabilities within and outside the clinical sphere.

Ms. Chidambaram helps families coping with addiction, children with developmental or behavioural needs, thereby providing the family with a better future. A background in psychometric testing and assessing enables her to provide testing services to clients as needed. A combination of the key skillsets (therapist/psychologist & psychometric tester) ensures greater accuracy and convenience to the client. With high empathy and deep commitment to her clients, Ms. Chidambaram brings dedication beyond the call of duty to her professional calling.


In keeping with our educational mission, we also sponsor a small number of closely supervised interns.
